4/6/07 (Friday): It's been an eventful week! We picked up the new RV (yay!) Wednesday a week ago and went back to Tiger Creek to finish our engagement there. Then we left Tiger Creek Preserve (with tears in our eyes--literally!) on Saturday morning and arrived in Winter Park. We parked in the driveway at Wiley's parents' house. It was super hard to leave the Preserve. Our co-workers became our friends and we had such a happy winter there.

On Sunday, I went to a memorial service for my cousin, Candy. We went out on a small cruise ship. Lots of friends and family shared memories of her. We had a meal and then scattered her ashes over Tampa Bay. She would have enjoyed it! These pictures are how I want to remember Candy.

We worked like slaves in to get our house ready to show to potential buyers. We had to take a lot of stuff to the dump, clean and make minor repairs inside and do a lot of yard work. We're almost done now.

Last night we finally got some much-needed rain, and to our surprise, our carpet was wet when we got up this morning. So Wiley went to the house to finish up some work there, and I hauled the RV back to Leisure Time RV. They're very nice people there. They took me in right away. Unfortunately, the leak was caused by an improperly installed gasket on the slide-out room, and it's a major repair. So it looks like we'll be in Florida for a while longer. They have to wait for the part to arrive and get permission from the manufacturer to do the repair. Our other choice was to go ahead and drive to Michigan and have it repaired at a dealer there, but then we wouldn't have a place to stay while repairs were being made. Oh well, this gives us a little more time to work on the house and enjoy my in-laws' hospitality.

To end this blog on a happier note, here are some pics I took before we left the preserve. This pretty flower had pink veins in the leaves!

There was a full moon over the weekend--here are some "artsy" shots of it.

That's it for a while. I may not have access to the internet for a while once we get on the road, but I'll blog when I can.

Oh, what a bummer. Does that mean we won't be seeing you on Monday?

Yup. We're hoping the estimate of two weeks to make the repairs is the worst case situation and we'll get to leave by the end of next week.

Maybe it's for the best. My cousin in Richmond reports snow covering the blossoms on his cherry tree!

We took early retirement from careers as Executive Assistant (Joyce) and Lawn Care company owner (Wiley). We have been full-time RV'rs since March, 2006. We've taken our RV to Maine, Michigan, California, North Carolina and everything in between. We live in Florida in the winters and travel in the summers. It's a tough life, but someone has to live it!
