Wiley fishing at Owl's Head Light State Park

6/1/06 (Thursday): I didn’t post anything yesterday because not much happened. We worked all morning weeding and mowing and then went down to the campground’s bluff. Wiley fished and I sat on a bench and read for a while. Not much happening today, either. I weeded gardens all morning and Wiley mowed. John and Lori (the bosses) transferred a workamper couple from their other park to here. They took the site next to us. They seem very nice. They’re from Ohio, and they’re first time workampers, too, although they’ve been full timing longer than us.

This afternoon we drove south to Owl’s Head light. Spectacular scenery, and a tiny lighthouse that can be seen a long way because it sits so high. Just about every afternoon we hear the fog horn from Owl’s Head. We were happy no fog came in while we were there. There are signs up all over the place saying that there may be intensely loud sounds with no forewarning.

We took early retirement from careers as Executive Assistant (Joyce) and Lawn Care company owner (Wiley). We have been full-time RV'rs since March, 2006. We've taken our RV to Maine, Michigan, California, North Carolina and everything in between. We live in Florida in the winters and travel in the summers. It's a tough life, but someone has to live it!
