We enjoyed the sunset from our screen room and then had a nice campfire before bed.
We took a drive out on the peninsula. It was very foggy. We could hear a couple of lobster boats working very close to shore, but could not see them. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. My camera battery ran low, so I
bought a disposable camera.
I was quite surprised to find this lily growing out of a crack in the rocks quite close to the salt water!
Here I am hiking on a lovely trail in the Petit Manon National Wildlife Refuge.
Most of the houses in the area were very simple, boxy, utilitarian abodes. I thought this one was cute--a small house, but look at all the gables and the ultra fancy trim!
Not much else going on. We’re still looking forward to visits from our friends. Lucie is coming in mid-August and Julie and John will come in early September. We’ve had some rainy days the last couple of days, but it’s clearing up now.

Beautiful Pictures. A friend of ours from Maine, said do the ferry to NS and Sebec Lake?
Thanks--I was surprised at how nice the pictures from the disposable camera turned out!
We really wanted to do Nova Scotia (I'm not sure where Sebec Lake is), but we don't have passports, and it's a long drive (we only get 3 days off). There's a new high speed ferry, but it's very expensive. So I guess we'll skip that. It can't be any more gorgeous than this area.
We are hoping to get out to one of the nearby islands--Vinalhaven, Islesboro or Monhegan. We also want to take the Puffin cruise and maybe go whale watching. It all depends on the budget at this point.
THere is about 7 or 8 places on the coast where you can catch a ferry to NS it would be alot faster than driving. No passport needed just a picture ID or Birth Certicate.
Sebec Lake is 80-90 miles from you next to Peaks-Kenny State Park great camping and fishing. Check it out.
Thanks for the info. The ferries are very expensive (almost $200), although we're still considering it. We'll have to check out the lake. We haven't done anything inland yet, and that sounds doable in 3 days (our days off).
Your disposable camera (with the competent photographer behind it!) took amazingly beautiful pictures. I love the view from your screened area and that lone flower photo, in particular.
How cool to pick your own blueberries for breakfast!
That trail you hiked - Petit Manon? - looked rocky and a bit muddy. Was it?
Yup, rocky and muddy both. But extremely beautiful, and not too difficult. At least the majority of the bugs are gone!
