9/6/06 (Wednesday): Just a quick post to let everyone know that we're on our way to Baxter State Park to see some moose! We'll be back Friday afternoon and I'll try to do a better post then.

We have a telephone interview at 9:15 this morning with Tiger Creek Preserve near Lake Wales for a Workamper position this winter. Send some good vibes our way--we'd really like to get this position!

Just some random stuff that I'll forget if I don't blog it now:

I checked in a camper earlier this week who put "bicycle" in the place on our registration form where you're supposed to put your license plate number. I asked him where he'd biked from, and he said he'd started at the Pacific and this was the first time he'd seen the Atlantic!!

We had fun at the end of season party at the boss's house. They have a lovely home on Clam Cove. In addition to all the Workampers from both campgrounds, there were some people who'd formerly been workampers. We had roast turkey breast and sausages and peppers done over the grill and a variety of cold salads. For dessert we had somethiing called chocolate lava cake flavored with amaretto--as you can imagine, that was this chocoholics favorite part of the meal!

All the Workampers in our campground will be gone when we get back--we'll miss them. We've really enjoyed working with them. The new couple started yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I found out that she used to live in Lake Ridge, a tiny subdivision of D.C. where I lived in the late 1970's! It's a small world.

Got to run--Wiley's ready to go!

Hope the job in Lake Wales comes to pass. Looking forward to having you around home for a while. I was going to put this bit of news in the Orlando Sentinel, but your blog will do just fine. Darcie & Chris are having a BOY.
